FAQ sur les cours de français d’été
What is the difference between the Intensif, Intensif Plus and Extensif courses?
Intensif and Intensif Plus are fast-paced daytime courses, Monday to Friday, recommended if you want to progress quickly or build a student visa file. The Extensif course is lighter, around two hours per day, making it compatible with work or studies alongside. The right choice depends on your goals, available time and desired pace of progress.
Which course should I choose if I am available during the week?
If you are available during the week, daytime courses are the most flexible option. They take place Monday to Friday, at fixed times in the morning or early afternoon. You can choose Extensif for a lighter rhythm, or Intensif / Intensif Plus to progress quickly.
Which course should I choose if I am only available in the evening?
Our evening courses are designed for working adults, students or people already living in Paris. They allow you to make steady progress with two sessions per week, without following an intensive daytime programme.
Which course should I choose if I am only available on Saturdays?
Saturday courses are suitable for people with a busy week who want to keep a regular learning rhythm. They take place in small groups, with a programme adapted to the group’s level.
I am a complete beginner. Can I take your courses?
Yes. Our complete beginner modules (A0) are designed for people who have never studied French. Teachers use a highly guided progression, simple instructions and visual materials to help you understand and speak from the first lessons.
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes. We offer private lessons one-to-one or in pairs, in person in Paris or online depending on availability. The content can be personalised: conversation, grammar, phonetics, exam preparation, professional French or specific needs.
Do your courses continue during the summer?
Yes. EDAM Paris continues to run courses during the summer, including in June, July and August. Depending on the period, some formats may have specific dates or timetables. Upcoming sessions are shown on the website or confirmed after your placement test.
Do I need to buy textbooks?
No. The teaching materials you need are included in your course: class documents, exercises, digital resources and useful photocopies. The teacher may recommend additional resources, but buying a textbook is not compulsory.
Can I combine French classes, tourism and remote work?
Yes. Many students choose a format that leaves them time to explore Paris, work remotely or organise their stay. For this profile, the Extensif format, evening courses, Saturday courses or à-la-carte lessons can be particularly suitable.
Can I take a free trial lesson?
A trial lesson may be offered in some cases, especially for students who already have some French and when there is a place available in a suitable group. For complete beginners or programmes requiring specific organisation, we first guide you towards the placement test and a discussion with the team.
Are you an official DELF, TCF or DCL exam centre?
No. EDAM Paris is not an official exam centre. We are a language school that prepares students for DELF, TCF and DCL through targeted courses, exam-style exercises and, depending on the period, mock exams.
Do you organise DELF mock exams?
Yes. EDAM Paris occasionally organises DELF mock exams to help students practise in conditions close to the real exam. These mock exams do not replace registration at an official exam centre, but they help you understand the format, timing and expectations more clearly.
