  • Progress: continuous evaluation, level advancement, participation in mock exams.

  • Course coherence: no unjustified gaps; weekly volume compatible with student status.

  • Appropriate weekly volume for student status (20 h/week often required for renewal in France).

  • Enrolment certificate (exact dates + weekly volume stated: 16 h or 20 h/week).

  • School-attendance certificate (once classes have begun).

  • Attendance records and a quarterly academic report.

  • Final level certificate at the end of the period.

Suggested timeline

1)Level test → 2) Enrolment confirmed & certificate issued → 3) Start classes & term monitoring → 4) Submit renewal 6–8 weeks before expiry.

Good practice

  • Notify and justify absences and keep all proofs.

  • Follow term reports and your revision plan.

  • On pedagogical advice, take DELF B1/B2 to evidence progress.

Important: Permits are granted by the authorities. EDAM supplies the academic documents required but cannot guarantee an administrative decision.
